“Everyday 5G and Wi-Fi exposure within public limits has been shown to cause health problems.”
Moderate confidence. Large evidence reviews do not show convincing harm from ordinary radiofrequency exposure within guidelines, including increased risk for the most studied cancers. Exposure assessment is imperfect, some outcomes and newer frequency patterns have less data, and ongoing surveillance remains appropriate.
5G and Wi-Fi use non-ionizing radiofrequency energy. At everyday exposure levels within public limits, current human evidence has not established that they cause cancer, headaches, sleep problems or other illness.
“Non-ionizing” does not mean energy can never interact with tissue; sufficiently intense radiofrequency exposure can heat tissue. Safety limits are designed to prevent established effects, and new evidence should continue to be reviewed.
Safety note: Do not let fear of wireless signals delay medical evaluation or lead to unsafe device modifications. Unregulated shields can be ineffective and may cause a phone to increase transmitting power.
Talk to a healthcare professional if: Discuss persistent headaches, sleep problems, palpitations, dizziness or other symptoms with a clinician so common and treatable causes are evaluated. Emergency symptoms need usual urgent care.
Routine use of compliant Wi-Fi and mobile networks is not a proven health threat. Symptoms are real and deserve care even when radiofrequency exposure is not established as their cause.
Focus on practical technology risks such as distracted driving, sleep disruption from late-night use and hearing volume. If you prefer lower exposure, distance and speaker mode reduce it without costly “EMF” products.
