Health Movement Privacy Policy

Effective October 1, 2026

Health Movement, LLC ("Health Movement," "we," "us") is a Utah company. This policy explains what we collect and what we do with it across our websites, our apps (such as Health Movement Steps and Health Movement Fitness), our free tools, our Free Health Roadmap, and the programs we offer to individuals and to organizations. Our Steps app also has its own page at go.healthmovement.com/steps/privacy/, which gives more detail about that app. If the two ever differ for the Steps app, the Steps page controls for that app.

Our promises

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not use your health or fitness data for advertising, and we do not put advertising software in our apps.
  • We do not give your health or fitness data to third parties for their own use.
  • We never use your data for hiring, firing, promotion, discipline or performance review.
  • You can delete your account, and your data goes with it.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information. Name or display name, email address, a sign-in method (email, Google or Apple), an approximate birth year to confirm you are at least 13, and an optional profile photo.
  • Activity data you choose to share. In Health Movement Steps, daily step totals from Apple Health or Health Connect (we read steps only, and ignore steps you typed in by hand). In Health Movement Fitness, the workouts, exercises and notes you enter. We collect only what the app needs to work.
  • Challenge and team information. Challenges you join, your team, and your goals.
  • Messages and notifications. A notification address for your device, if you allow notifications.
  • Purchases. If you subscribe to HM+, the store or payment processor handles your payment details. We receive a record that you subscribed, the plan, and its status. We do not see or store your card number.
  • Signups and messages. Your name and email if you sign up for the Free Health Roadmap, join a mailing list, suggest a claim, or contact us, plus what you tell us. If you request a guide from one of our free tools, we collect your email address.
  • Websites. Basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, collected by our hosting providers in routine server logs.
  • Optional general location. If you choose to share your city, state or country, we use it to understand in general where our community is located. This is optional, and you can ask us to remove it at any time.
  • Organization information. If you work with us on behalf of an employer, school, health department, gym, recreation center or other organization, we collect your name, work email, role and your organization's details.

We do not collect your precise location, your contacts, or your photo library (other than a photo you choose to upload).

2. How we use it

To run your account and the apps; to score challenges and show you your own results; to show challenge members the information they have chosen to share (see section 4); to send notifications you have turned on; to send the Roadmap and other emails you asked for; to process subscriptions; to keep our services secure and fix problems; to answer you; and to meet our legal duties.

3. Websites, cookies and tracking

Our sites at go.healthmovement.com do not use advertising or retargeting trackers. Pages that carry our Free Health Roadmap signup form load a ClickFunnels script, which receives what you type into the form and may set cookies and measure visits to those pages. Our Contact form and the forms for suggesting a topic or claim use Cloudflare Turnstile, a spam and bot check. It runs in your browser and may receive technical details such as your IP address and browser information to tell people from bots, under Cloudflare's own privacy policy. What you type into those forms is sent to ClickFunnels so we can read and answer it. Our free calculators (the Protein Gap, Calorie Gap, Fiber Gap and The Calorie Game) run in your browser. The height, weight, age and activity level you enter stay on your device. If you ask for a guide, we send only your email address to HubSpot, which emails you the guide and keeps you as a contact. HubSpot may use its own cookie, if you already have one, to link your signup to your visit. Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, so Google may receive your IP address and browser information when a page loads. Some pages are run by other companies and have their own cookies and policies: our Free Health Roadmap and program pages are on ClickFunnels, our shop is on Shopify with printing by Printful, and our free tools may use other services to deliver them. On marketing and sales pages we may use standard advertising or measurement pixels. We never use them in our apps or on our Facts over Fear pages, and they never receive your health or fitness data. You can block cookies in your browser settings, and we respect Global Privacy Control signals where we can.

4. Who sees your information

  • Other people in your challenges. If you join a challenge, other members can see your display name, photo, team and daily step totals. Choose a display name you are comfortable sharing.
  • Organizations. If you join a workplace, school, health department, gym or other organization's program, that organization sees only combined results (see section 5). It does not see your individual data unless you choose to share it.
  • Our service providers, who process data for us under their own privacy terms and only to provide their services: Supabase (database and sign-in), Expo (app builds and notifications), Google (sign-in, Health Connect, Firebase Cloud Messaging), Apple (sign-in, Apple Health, push notifications and in-app purchases), Stripe (web payments), RevenueCat (subscription management), ClickFunnels (forms and email), HubSpot (email signups and guide emails from our free tools), Cloudflare (spam protection on our forms), and Netlify (website hosting). We keep this list current as we add apps and tools.
  • Legal and safety. We disclose information if required by law or a valid legal request, or to protect someone's safety or our rights.
  • A business transfer. If Health Movement is sold or reorganized, your information may transfer, and the new owner must honor this policy.

5. Organizations and group programs

We offer programs to employers, schools, health departments, gyms, recreation centers and similar organizations. These work as follows:

  • Joining is voluntary. Before you join, the app tells you in plain language what the organization will see.
  • Organizations see combined results only, such as participation and total steps for a group, and only for groups large enough that no individual can be picked out. They cannot see one person's data.
  • An organization never learns who chose not to join or who left.
  • You can leave a program, or delete your account, at any time. You will then be left out of future reports. Past combined totals may stay as totals.
  • Organizations may not use anything from our service for hiring, firing, promotion, discipline, performance review or insurance decisions.
  • If you share individual data with an organization (for example, to earn a reward), you do so by your own choice, it is off by default, and you can turn it off.
  • Organizations sign an agreement with us. If an organization's agreement differs from this policy about that organization's own account information, the agreement applies to that information.
  • We are not a health plan, and Health Movement does not currently sign HIPAA business associate agreements. Our programs are designed so that they do not depend on one.

6. Children and teens

Our apps are for people 13 and older, and we block signup under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child under 13 has given us information, email contact@healthmovement.com and we will delete it. If an organization offers our programs to people under 18, the organization is responsible for getting any parent or guardian permission the law requires and for making sure participants are at least 13.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your account information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, photo and activity history from our systems promptly. Backups are overwritten on a regular cycle, and combined, anonymous statistics may remain. Email subscribers stay on our list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete you. We keep purchase and tax records as long as the law requires.

8. Your choices and rights

You can: see and correct your information in the apps; delete your account in the app or by emailing us; turn off notifications; stop sharing steps through your phone's health settings; unsubscribe from any email with the link in it; and ask us for a copy of your information. Depending on where you live (for example Utah, California or other states), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete or obtain your data, and to opt out of sale, targeted advertising or profiling. We offer these choices to everyone, we do not sell data or use it for targeted advertising, and we will not treat you worse for using them. To ask, email contact@healthmovement.com. We may need to confirm it is you, and we will answer within the time your law requires, and in any case within 45 days.

9. Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls and row-level separation of each person's data in our database. No service is perfectly secure. If a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.

10. Where data is processed

We are based in the United States, and our providers process data in the United States and other countries. If you use our services from outside the United States, you understand your information will be handled there.

11. Third-party sites and the live Health Movement app

Links to other sites, our Shop, the programs.healthmovement.com site, and any earlier Health Movement app or site operated with other partners have their own privacy policies, which apply to them.

12. Changes

If we make a material change, we will post the new date here and notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect for new uses of your information.
