“Mobile phones lower sperm count.”
Human studies have inconsistent results and weak exposure measurement. Some associations are reported, but they do not establish that phone radiofrequency exposure causes lower sperm counts.
Normal mobile phone use has not been established as a cause of low sperm count. Some human studies report lower counts with more use, while others do not. The evidence cannot yet give a reliable size of any causal effect.
A newer Swiss study reported an association with frequent use, but not with carrying a phone in a pants pocket. Use frequency is not a direct measurement of the dose reaching the testes.
Laboratory exposure of isolated sperm, animal experiments and everyday human phone use are different situations. Their results cannot be substituted for one another.
Safety note: A phone-use history alone cannot diagnose infertility.
Talk to a healthcare professional if: Seek a proper fertility evaluation when indicated rather than assuming a phone caused the problem.
There is no good basis for a blanket claim that your phone is making you infertile. Uncertainty is not a guarantee of no possible effect.
For a fertility concern, investigate the actual problem rather than inferring its cause from phone use.
