The claim

“GHK-Cu injections improve skin elasticity.”

Not enough evidence
Evidence confidence Insufficient/Conflicting
The short answer

GHK-Cu injections have not been tested for skin elasticity in people.

What this means for you

GHK-Cu injections are an untested cosmetic idea with limited safety data. There is no evidence that they firm up skin.

Your next step

Skip GHK-Cu injections for skin elasticity until human trials show they work and are safe.

Who should be careful?

Safety note: FDA has warned that compounded GHK-Cu injections may trigger immune reactions and that there are limited human data on their safety. GHK-Cu injections are not an approved treatment.

Talk to a healthcare professional if: you are thinking about getting GHK-Cu injections.

The evidence
Why this confidence?

We found no human trial of injected GHK-Cu for skin, and reviews of copper peptides describe only a few small studies of products put on the skin. Results for creams cannot answer what an injection does.

The facts

GHK-Cu injections have not been tested for skin elasticity in people. The little human research on copper peptides used creams and other products put on the skin, not injections.

The bigger picture

A 2026 review of GHK-Cu found the clinical evidence sparse overall and stressed that the form of the copper peptide, the dose and how it is given all change how the body is exposed to it. A separate 2026 review of GHK-Cu in cosmetic medicine found only 2 randomized trials in people, both with products used on the skin. Products sold under the same ingredient name are not automatically the same.
